Dear Summercrest Community:

As we continue to work through the challenges that COVID-19 has presented to our world I am thankful that up to this point Summercrest remains healthy and safe. I can credit this achievement to our amazing staff who ensure that we remain vigilant in our infection control procedures.

The state of New Hampshire has provided guidance for the adjustment of some policies around communal dining, activities, and visitation. We will slowly be adapting our practice to include these changes over the next month.

The state has not changed its stance on travel within the community, and still strongly suggests residents should not leave the campus unless it is medically necessary. Summercrest resident services department will continue to provide grocery shopping for residents and provides required transport to medically necessary appointments.

Guidance on safe travel and travel that requires self-quarantine also remains largely unchanged and so visits from family members outside of the New England region are not currently permitted. We continue to support virtual visits to keep our seniors connected with loved ones.

We appreciate that this is a difficult time for our residents and their families. Each senior living community must create their own policies based on the provided guidance and that can sometimes look different than what is reported in the news. I am happy to discuss Summercrest’s policies at any time and hope that we can all understand that we are doing what we can to ensure our resident’s safety.
